Kendojo Teams Up With Louth Police

Kendojo has teamed up with Louth's neighbourhood Policing Team with the aim of getting local youngsters fit.

“An excuse used by many youngsters for hanging around and causing a nuisance is that they’re bored.  This is the perfect opportunity for boys and girls of secondary age to shake off the boredom and come and get fit,” explained PCSO Josh Hayward who himself was a fitness instructor before joining Lincolnshire Police.

Youngsters will have the opportunity to take part in structured fitness sessions each week, run by two well-known locally based fitness instructors and ably assisted by members of Louth’s NHP Team.  There will also be demonstrations being provided by black belt karate experts, the chance to take part in kick boxing training sessions and work out with basic circuit training.  The  sessions will be held each Friday night between 8.00pm and 10.00pm, and will be called "Combat Circuit".

“We’re doing all we can to encourage the local youngsters to get involved in sporting activity, which is constructive, great fun and healthy for the mind and body and this is the perfect opportunity with a vast range of fitness activity on offer,” said PCSO Hayward.  “By becoming involved in sporting pursuits, they are grasping the opportunity to meet other youngsters and make new friends, increase self-esteem and give them an interest and positive focus in life.”

All equipment is being provided and all those interested in attending is pitch up at 8.00pm in trainers and appropriate sportswear.

Anyone wishing to attend the fitness session should inform their school through the PE Department.

For further information please contact PCSO Josh Hayward at Louth Police Station on 01507 604744 or on his mobile on 07825 100401.
